The great thing about being a wedding photographer is that you don`t need a studio. No Studio means no studio overheads. In fact once you have invested in all the equipment, apart from advertising and a few minor recurring costs, there are not many outgoing expenses for a wedding photographers, well maybe a few umbrellas if you`re working in Glasgow.

This is great News during the recession, work income can slow down allowing you time for other pursuits without continuous outgoing expenditure. Roy Wilson a wedding photographer from Glasgow, strongly believes that the recession is good for business and here`s why:

"Simply put a recession will cause what`s called a bottle neck, similar to a bottle neck in evolution. If you`ve not got what it takes to pull through you`ll bite the dust. This will weed out a lot of the part timers and week willed, you`ve got to hang on in there to survive" says Roy.

Another wedding photographer from Glasgow has a different view. The recession cause a lot of redundancy, so expect people grasping at straws to find work any work, Thinking that wedding photography is easy money, they venture out bashing a few weddings with their basic Nikon, and 1960`s vivitar flashgun.

Roy argues "Exactly, that`s great for business if you`re an established pro wedding photographer. Let the public pay pennies for inexperienced "weekend warriors", It won`t take long before they realise what a big mistake that`s been, and that`s good for business.
