Board Games for the Whole Family: My Top 3 | One Busy Moma ...

With the holiday season behind us, gone are also the big dinners and afternoons spent with the whole family. By comparison, the months ahead could look like a lonely time to many. But I?d rather think of any simple weeknight as a special occasion to share some quality time with your husband and sons after a shattering day at work.

?

I?m not talking of watching films or reading books together though: to make every family night unique, interaction is vital. And in no other way you could beat the fun and interaction a good board game can bring.

?

Here you can find my top 3 favourite board games, which will hopefully help you through the January blues.

?

Logo Board Game

?

I must say I discovered only recently at a friend?s dinner party. The Logo board game certainly isn?t a classic, as it was presented only in 2009 ? but it is?a fresh game?that mixes all the excitement of pop culture with the traditional board game format. With stimulating questions about some of the most famous brands and products that play significant roles in our lives, Logo actually adds a lot of insider knowledge and fun facts to what we already know about them. For families with kids over 12 years of age, nothing beats Logo.

?

Smart Ass

?

Its name speaks volume about how direct this game is! Smart Ass is a cracker for the whole family ? all you have to do is shout out the question to have a chance to beat the other players. Careful, though, as you may be finding yourself screaming out the wrong answer. Shameful moments to follow. Ideal for kids over 12, this game doesn?t require any specific knowledge base and is as immediate as it is funny.

?

Operation

?

Your kids are younger and don?t want anything to cerebral: all they want is challenge and a laugh. If that is the case, Operation is the safe bet you?re looking for. A classic that never lost its magic, this game will let you turn into a doctor and challenge your children as you try to take all sorts of weird items off Cavity Sam?s body. Don?t ever touch the cavity sides, though, or you?ll get buzzed and his nose will turn red!
