The Indiana University Health LaPorte Dental Center is offering free dental exams to children with no dental insurance. The exams are offered by appointment only on:

Scranton, Pennsylvania, to pay back workers' wages, plus interest
(Reuters) - After slashing public employees' pay to minimum wage on July 6, the mayor of cash-poor Scranton, Pennsylvania, has struck a deal to pay them back what they are owed with interest.
Mayor Christopher Doherty agreed that the city would pay approximately $750,000 in compensation owed to firefighters, police officers and public works employees, plus at least $5,100 in interest, said Tom Jennings, a lawyer for the employees' unions.
In exchange, the unions said they would drop their bid to have the mayor held in contempt of court, according to the agreement, reached Saturday and presented to a judge on Monday.
Scranton, the setting for "The Office" television show, is one of several cities in Pennsylvania and across the United States that are struggling to make ends meet, because of lowered revenue collections and increased spending.
Doherty said on Monday the city was on track to implement a fiscal recovery plan. This would allow it to tap into $2.25 million of state aid and find lenders for its budget gap.
Doherty made headlines around the world after cutting employees' pay to the state's $7.25 minimum wage for the July 6 payroll period. Shortly after, Doherty said he had no other choice because the city didn't have enough money to make full payroll of about $1.1 million for its nearly 400 employees.
After paying them about $315,000 altogether at the minimum wage, the city had just $5,000 left in its coffers, he has said.
For the following payroll on July 20, the city was again able to pay the full amount due to employees under collective bargaining agreements.
The settlement calls for Scranton to repay the compensation by August 16, plus a 6 percent interest payment that amounts to at least $5,100 for the missed pay periods.
"Hopefully (the settlement) gives us some stability here and some assurances that this isn't going to happen again," said John Judge, president of Scranton's firefighters' union.
Scranton, nicknamed the "Electric City" for having one of the nation's first electric streetcar systems, will get $2.25 million in state aid if it can enact a fiscal recovery plan by August 15.
MAYOR SAYS CITY ON TRACK TO TAP STATE AID
If it doesn't meet that goal, Scranton can extend reimbursement of the back-pay until August 31 but must pay nearly $7,000 in interest instead, the agreement said.
So far, Scranton is on track to tap into the state aid after sending a proposed recovery plan to the state for consideration on Friday, Doherty told Reuters.
As a financially distressed city, Scranton is under state supervision and must get state and court approval for certain financial decisions.
The Scranton city council approved a budget for fiscal year 2012, which ends December 31, that borrowed about $16.5 million to fund operations.
But after the council voted to delay a $1 million debt payment on June 1 by two weeks, banks have been reluctant to lend without first seeing a recovery plan for the coming years, Doherty said.
"It gives us a plan for the next three years," he said. "We can go to the banking community."
The proposed plan includes a provision to raise an additional $1 million annually from the city's nonprofits, which would be asked to make payments in lieu of the property taxes from which they are exempt.
The idea was based on successful efforts by the mayor of Providence, Rhode Island, earlier this year to get that city's universities and charity hospitals to make bigger annual payments, Doherty said.
Scranton's proposed recovery plan also calls for a commuter tax, paid by people who work but do not live in the city, that would raise about $4 million a year, as well as a property tax increase of about 33 to 36 percent over the next three years, Doherty said.
Scranton and other cities are also lobbying state lawmakers to let them impose sales taxes, the way Philadelphia and Pittsburgh now do, Doherty said.
That could allow Scranton to raise another $5 million every year, he said, but there's no time frame for when or if such a change could happen.

A former senior CID officer has found "serious failings" in an investigation into the death of a man five years ago.
David Swindle compiled the critical independent report following a campaign by the family of Colin Marr, who challenge the police conclusion that his death was suicide.
Mr Marr, 23, of Lochgelly in Fife, died from a single stab wound to the chest in July 2007 following a domestic row.
In his report, Mr Swindle said: "This was a suspicious death and should have been treated as such at the beginning."
He added: "Reviewing this tragic case has been a challenge and sometimes frustrating as I progressed through the various stages of my methodology continually reflecting on the failed investigation trying to understand why such basic but serious failings were made."
There were no systematic failings by the police or Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), but a "series of errors" by experienced professionals, he found.
"How this may have affected the search for the truth about Colin Marr's death is the question which may never be answered. However, hopefully at some point the unanswered questions as to how Colin Marr sustained his fatal injury will be resolved and the findings reflected in this report will assist in that regard," he added.
Mr Marr's mother highlighted five recommendations in the report, disclosed today, which she believes confirm the "suspicious" nature of his death.
The findings include calls for a review of fingerprint and forensic evidence and the re-interviewing of five witnesses.
In a statement, she said: "It's five years, almost to the day, since my son, Colin, died at home from a stab wound to the chest. This report confirms the suspicious nature of his death.
"I share Mr Swindle frustrations at the basic and serious failings in the investigation."
A total of 34 recommendations were made in the 50-page report by Mr Swindle.
Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie, a Mid Scotland and Fife MSP, said the local force "mishandled" the investigation.
"This report confirms that. It is now imperative that the five key recommendations from the report are taken forward by another force," he said.
Local Labour MSP John Park also welcomed the report, calling for the Lord Advocate to meet the family.
A Crown Office spokesman said: "The investigation of the death of Colin Marr remains open."
Any request for a meeting with the Lord Advocate would be considered, the spokesman added.

Nakheel profit up 36% as Dubai property recovers
Dubai real estate developer Nakheel on Monday posted a first half net profit of $208.8 million, up 36.5 percent compared with the same period of 2011, saying it reflected a recovery in the sector.
Net profit came in at 767 million dirhams ($208.8 million dollars, 170.3 million euros) for the six months to June 30 compared with 562 million dirhams in 2011, Nakheel said in a statement.
Revenues were 31 billion dirhams in the first half thanks to the sale of many real estate units, amounting to an annual rise of 112 percent, according to the statement.
Nakheel underwent a restructuring programme after Dubai's property bubble burst in 2009, concluding the process in August last year.
Before the crisis struck, it had borrowed heavily to finance its projects, including iconic palm-shaped man-made islands off the coast of the Gulf emirate.
"The financial performance is reflective of the continuous support and commitment made by the government of Dubai and the board of directors of Nakheel to implement a sustainable business strategy for the medium to long term and largely due to better cost and cash management," it said.
"The positive results... following from the robust financial results achieved in the year 2011 are reflective of the strong growth in the real estate market in Dubai where Nakheel is a dominant player and will continue to strengthen its position with the passage of time."

The annual Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game took place this past Saturday night in Harwich, Massachusetts as the Eastern Division hosted the Western Division. Sean Manaea (Indiana State)
Throughout the summer, the 6?5 215 pound lefty has been thrilling scouts and baffling hitters with a 4-1 record and a 1.44 ERA in eight games (seven starts). He has shown excellent control walking six batters while striking out 75 in only 43.2 innings pitched. Many scouts didn?t have Manaea on their list to watch at the beginning of the summer but he has become the top arm in the league by far.
In the All-Star Game on Saturday, he had an ?off-night? striking out only two batters while giving up a hit which he was able to eliminate with a nasty pickoff move. His arm action reminds me a little bit of current Chicago White Sox Pitcher Chris Sale who also shot up the draft stock with an excellent summer a few years ago in the Cape League. He ended up sitting around 95 MPH in his inning of work and was very deceptive with his pitches.
Nick Rumbelow (LSU)
Nick came into the summer working out of the bullpen for the 2012 season for the LSU Tigers and has continued that with the Wareham Gatemen. He has appeared in 14 games this summer, with a record of 1-0 with a 3.32 ERA in 21.2 innings pitched. Rumbelow has dominated hitters striking out 36 while walking 10.
He continued his dominance in the CCBL All-Star game dazzling hitters with a hard deceptive fastball as he struck out one while allowing a hit. I was highly impressed with how he was able to move the fastball in the zone while changing the eye level of the batters.
Jeff Hoffman (East Carolina)
Hoffman split his time in the college season between the bullpen and the starting rotation. He finished the season with 19 appearances while making 10 starts. He ended up with a 3-2 record with a save and an ERA of 3.67.
He has improved immensely this summer going 2-1 with a 2.40 ERA in six games (five starts) totaling 30 innings pitched. He has struck out a batter an inning while walking ten. In the All-Star Game, he was touching mid-90?s with a very good curveball that hitters were struggling with.
Dan Slania (Notre Dame)
You want the simple story on Slania? The guy is a large as he is listed at 6?5 and 265 pounds from Tucson, Arizona. He served as the closer for the Fighting Irish this past spring where he was one of the best pitchers in the Big East Conference. He went 3-0 including 13 saves with a 2.03 ERA in 31 innings pitched. He struck out 37 batters while walking 12.
This summer hasn?t been different as he has served as the closer for the Cotuit Kettleers getting into 17 games out of the pen with a record of 1-0 including eight saves and an ERA of 1.82 in 24.2 innings pitched. He has struck out 36 batters while walking only a measly three. In the All-Star game on Saturday night, he gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning but did strike out two batters. He was sitting around 95 in his inning of work and is a player to watch this upcoming spring.
Michael Wagner (San Diego)
Wagner had an outstanding season with the San Diego Toreros primarly working out of the bullpen with 29 relief appearances and two starts. He went 5-2 including 19 saves with a 2.58 ERA in 59.1 innings of work.
This summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Chatham Anglers, he has worked as a starting pitcher with five starts in six appearances. He has a 2-2 record and a 1.98 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched while striking out 30 batters and walking 14. He didn?t allow a baserunner in Saturday?s All-Star game while having a fastball around 94 MPH.

JERUSALEM (AP) ? Mitt Romney told Jewish donors Monday that their culture is part of what has allowed them to be more economically successful than the Palestinians, outraging Palestinian leaders who suggested his comments were racist and out of touch with the realities of the Middle East. His campaign later said his remarks were mischaracterized.
"As you come here and you see the GDP per capita, for instance, in Israel which is about $21,000 dollars, and compare that with the GDP per capita just across the areas managed by the Palestinian Authority, which is more like $10,000 per capita, you notice such a dramatically stark difference in economic vitality," the Republican presidential candidate told about 40 wealthy donors who ate breakfast at the luxurious King David Hotel.
Romney said some economic histories have theorized that "culture makes all the difference."
"And as I come here and I look out over this city and consider the accomplishments of the people of this nation, I recognize the power of at least culture and a few other things," Romney said, citing an innovative business climate, the Jewish history of thriving in difficult circumstances and the "hand of providence." He said similar disparity exists between neighboring countries, like Mexico and the United States.
Palestinian reaction to Romney was swift and pointed.
"It is a racist statement and this man doesn't realize that the Palestinian economy cannot reach its potential because there is an Israeli occupation," said Saeb Erekat, a senior aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
"It seems to me this man lacks information, knowledge, vision and understanding of this region and its people," Erekat added. "He also lacks knowledge about the Israelis themselves. I have not heard any Israeli official speak about cultural superiority."
As criticism mounted while Romney traveled to Poland, campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul said: "His comments were grossly mischaracterized." The Republican's campaign contends Romney's comparison of countries that are close to each other and have wide income disparities ? the U.S. and Mexico, Chile and Ecuador ? shows his comments were broader than just the comparison between Israel and Palestine.
While speaking to U.S. audiences, Romney often highlights culture as a key to economic success and emphasizes the power of the American entrepreneurial spirit compared to the values of other countries. But his decision to highlight cultural differences in a region where such differences have helped fuel violence for generations raises new questions about the former businessman's diplomacy skills.
As he has at home, Romney in Jerusalem cited a book titled, "Guns, Germs and Steel," that suggests the physical characteristics of the land account for the differences in the success of the people that live there.
"And you look at Israel and you say you have a hard time suggesting that all of the natural resources on the land could account for all the accomplishment of the people here," Romney said, before citing another book, "The Wealth and Poverty of Nations," by former Harvard professor David Landes.
This book, Romney said in Jerusalem, concludes that "if you could learn anything from the economic history of the world it's this: Culture makes all the difference. Culture makes all the difference."
