The mission of the Provo Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance and better the quality of life for all the residents living in the city of Provo. Sports
The Sports Division provides a wide range of possibilities to participate in a new sport or enjoy a favorite past time. There are sports leagues that are offered year round for adults as well as the youth. The adult sports leagues include Winter and Summer Basketball, Flag Football, Spring and Fall Softball, Softball Tournaments, Volleyball and Tennis Lessons. The youth sports leagues include Spring, Fall and Indoor Soccer; Basketball; Volleyball; Baseball/Softball; Track and Field; Cross Country; Flag Football; Wrestling; Tennis Lessons. Provo City has over 40 city parks as well as many miles of trails. The Parks Department also offers many volunteer opportunities for families, church groups and scouts to ensure the everyone has an opportunity to get involved and better the surrounding community.
Cultural Arts
The Covey Center for the Arts located in the city of Provo opened its doors in 2007 with the intended goal to educate, enrich, endow and entertain the citizens of Provo. This Center?s 670-seat performance hall hosts the famous Mayor?s Series for the Performing Arts. The Mayor?s Series for the Performing Arts has presented famous performers ranging from Kenny Loggins and George Winston as well as big events like Bye Bye Birdie and Thriller. The Brinton Black Box Theater seats 60, and houses a number of plays and musicals. The Covey Center is also home to an art gallery, which has rotating exhibits and three dance studios. Something fun, exciting, interesting, entertaining, and challenging can always be found at this great center!

Aquatics
Enjoy a wide range variety of year round aquatic activities for people of all walks of life. The Provo Recreation Center Pool is an indoor pool that is open year round and the Veterans Memorial Pool is an outdoor seasonal pool. Both pools staff highly certified lifeguards to ensure a safe and healthy swimming experience. Some of the Aquatic activities that can be enjoyed at both the indoor and outdoor pool are lap swimming, recreational swimming and diving, deep and shallow water aerobics, swimming and diving lessons for ages from 6 months to adults. Peaks Ice Arena
The Peaks Ice Arena provides great ice skating and hockey programs which will help to bring out the skater or athlete in everyone! The Peaks Ice Arena is a 2002 Olympic venue which is home to two world class Olympic size ice rinks and two indoor futsal courts. It offers several activities such as, public skating, birthday parties, private rentals, broomball, learn to skate, figure skating, futsal and ice hockey. Strut across the ice and enjoy a very ?cool? afternoon!
